Experience Bhutan via hiking and rafting adventure
Rafting In Bhutan
Experiences 3 hours exciting trip
An adrenalin-pumping adventure in Phochu river in Punakha.
One of the most appropriate ways to experience Bhutan is via rafting. Rafting is becoming increasingly popular because of the many rivers in Bhutan, ranging from turbulent alpine rivulets to staid wide sub-tropical rivers. These adventures offer splendid views of fortresses and people going about their daily chores as towns and villages are all located alongside rivers.
Today’s tour starts from the suspension bridge at the north of Punakha valley. Traversing through the subtropical pine forests along the bank of Pochu River, amongst a traditional farmhouses is rejuvenating walk of your lifetime. After walking for more than two hours, you will be at the put-in where your rafting crew will be awaiting here for you. After a brief safety talk by your raft guide, we make maiden journey downstream the Phochu river along the valley encountered by occasional rapids and turbulence. You will have your hot lunch somewhere halfway near the sandy embankment. Continue rafting downstream and flowing past the formidable Punakha Dzong, you will end your adventure below the Dzong.
